I also tried to boot without vfio and yes the nvidia driver works OK, it's not a hardware issue. I additionally tried changing dynamic ownership = 0 (was 1) in nf but it was not necessary before and did not fix the problem. I have gone through all the instructions I used to set up the VM and I can't find a problem, as you would expect, I didn't touch the config files. Is there a command I can run to see what is preventing it? I am out of ideas. All I can think of is I installed openssh (+ufw) around the time it stopped working.īut why would this break qemu-kvm with a permission error when it is set up to run as root? It worked for maybe 1-2 years stably (ignoring hardware issues, has run nvidia and amd fine) until recently it started throwing permission errors. Then I rebooted one day and it would not work any more.
